Posee una cubierta trasera en forma de cristal que muestra lo que serían sus componentes internos. Xiaomi ha confirmado que el acabado transparente es falso y en realidad lo que hacen es perfilar y tallar esos detalles mediante una máquina CNC.
Por lo demás, destaca por su potencia con hasta 12 GB de memoria RAM, procesador Snapdragon 855, carga inalámbrica de 20W, triple cámara (como el Mi 9) con un sensor de 48 megapíxeles y un objetivo de 7 lentes con apertura f/1.47, y cuenta con pantalla SuperAMOLED de 6,39 pulgadas con resolución FullHD+.
