[gifted 📖] Review time! I asked which books you all were curious about this month, and lots of you said THE DREAMERS by Karen Thompson Walker, which is a dystopian novel about a town hit by a sleeping sickness. One day, people stop waking up; yet, as they sleep, their brain activity is higher than anything ever recorded in a human brain. Interesting, right? 👀 So, I read it and ... I liked it. Sort of. • • At about the halfway point, I was feeling ambivalent about THE DREAMERS, due mostly to the extremely light narration style and my struggle with disaster for the sake of disaster. However, once I finished the book, my opinion shifted. By the end, I felt that many of the characters imparted wisdom and the style ultimately suited the story. Overall? A book with a strong idea and a very quiet style.
